REMI Home Elevator Reviews

We were building an addition on my house for my Mom.  She was getting to the age that going up and down stairs can be a problem so we started looking at elevators. A friend of ours had built a garage apartment for his Mom and recommended REMI.  I started doing my own research on REMI Home Elevators and found that a unit was available for a good price and had several features that made my Mom feel safer.  She was very concerned about getting stuck in the elevator, so the fact that a hydraulic elevator could be easily lowered to the ground floor, made her much more comfortable. The sales representative Jamie was very nice and made a trip to the house to help us decide on features and to be sure our construction would work with the REMI. They even sent out an installer prior to installation to help with alternate locations for the controls.  When it came down to the installation, the crew was very professional and did all the work over a weekend.  We have been using the elevator for about nine months now with no problems.  I would highly recommend REMI to anyone.

Our experience with REMI Home Elevator was very good. We found the installers particularly hard working and resourceful and would recommend REMI to other folks doing a home installation. Price, quick installation and service were the key, and we continually get positive comments from folks taking a ride on the great look and responsiveness of our REMI home elevator.

A few years ago, we decided to leave the cold winters of New England behind us and build a new house on the Tennessee River.   The lot we bought was a bit too steep to accommodate our preferred single floor living style, so we designed the house with primary spaces on the main floor, but with a second floor below for additional living space.   We plan to live in this house for a long time, so it was designed with an elevator in mind.   Early in the house design process we searched for various elevator companies to determine design constraints.

In the process of seeking to learn elevator configurations we ran across the REMI web site with its excellent diagrams illustrating the footprint, framing, and height requirements.   So, we were attracted to REMI from the outset. As time went on, and as bids were solicited from other elevator companies, we learned that REMI provided good value.   Last summer, Michele came for a site visit to witness our construction progress and she said that we were preparing the shaft appropriately.  That offer was attractive and we made our purchase.   Since the house was not yet fully constructed, Michele agreed to send the major parts to us and we stored them in a neighbor's garage.

The home builder, someone not noted for construction speed, did not make anywhere near the construction rate that we wished for, so those parts remained in the neighbor's house for a while.   Nevertheless, a few months ago, we did indeed reach a suitable house construction implementation state for the elevator to be installed.   We were very pleased with REMI's tolerance for our construction schedule difficulties and were further pleased when they sent a very efficient installer.

REMI was chosen because of their competitive pricing, professionalism and knowledge of the first conversation with the company representative. The installation of our internal elevator was made in a new home. Our association was predominately with Alice who could always be relied upon to return phone calls or e-mails. The installers were accommodating, helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable as situations arose during the construction of our new home.

When I was thinking about building a new home I contacted REMI representatives, as well as looked at many other options. The REMI elevator unit I chose turned out to be a no-frills, practical solution, with the least amount of maintenance and a reasonable price. I opted for an internal shaft and install in lieu of stairs. I really enjoy the ability of placing all of my items in the elevator and making one trip to transfer everything to the garage and then into my car. The REMI staff was personable and easy to work with, and the website was very helpful in planning the installation. I am looking forward to the convenience of using an elevator as I get older. I would definitely recommend REMI Home Elevators to others.

We purchased a 1907 commercial building in Newberry, South Carolina, with plans to refurbish the two, first floor retail spaces and convert the entire second floor to an "urban-style" loft apartment.  The project evolved into a major rehabilitation, rather than a simple renovation project.  Elevator access to the residence above was important because the building has 14 foot ceilings on the first floor. We did our research on-line, visiting many elevator manufacturers' sites, as well as their regional/local distributor sites.  We found the REMI site and determined that the prices were very reasonable.

We arranged to visit an existing REMI elevator installation prior to our purchase. Both the REMI representative and the homeowner were very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant.  This experience swayed our decision to go with REMI and work directly with them on our project. We signed our REMI contract, but the project then got bogged down in multiple engineering studies and plan revisions. The demolition and construction did not start until over a year later.  REMI was very understanding and accommodated our delayed installation. The construction of an internal elevator hoist way - that also served as part of the structural support - was planned.  Our general contractor and his superintendent found the specifications and assistance from REMI to be helpful.  As the first "mixed-use" project incorporating a residential elevator in Newberry, there were many questions and concerns from the construction trades and municipal code authorities. Again, REMI was most cooperative.

Our unit is a four-stop system that tests the maximum capabilities of the equipment.   We have access to the roof and basement, in addition to the street and apartment levels.  The installation went smoothly and we find that daily operations are trouble-free.  We selected a standard accordion gate and unfinished interior.  The accordion gate is well finished and, with just a coat of polyurethane, the simple wood cabin is attractive.  We are very pleased with our decision and would be happy to recommend REMI to others, as well as offer our own site as a demonstration location.

I am an interior designer with MDS Marketing and Design Service. My client and I are very happy that we selected REMI Home Elevators for their project.  We had conversations with, and bids from, several companies, and found REMI to be very cooperative and helpful in the decision making process.  They were able to adjust their sizes and orientations to fit our situation.

Our installation was to an existing home which had already had an addition, but was still using the old, narrow staircase.  The Husband's condition was rapidly deteriorating so we had to work fast to make it possible for him to get upstairs to his bedroom and bath or we would have had to create an interim bedroom on the main floor level. We also needed a way to get his wheel chair into the first level from the driveway outside. We designed the elevator shaft into the existing home so that it looks like it was always a part of the building as a side entrance thus giving us the ability to have the two-sided cab. This is where REMI was very helpful.  Their representative came to the residence and assisted us in establishing a three stop, two-sided, system which allowed the homeowner to enter from outside, rise the 3 step level to the main floor, and then continue up to the bedroom level if he desired.

We were happy that we could purchase the cab plain and have it finished to our specifications by our own carpenter.  All of the hardware, connections and functions were finished by REMI's installers and the elevator could be used immediately.  We then had time to design the inside and have it finished.

I must also congratulate REMI's installers for their prompt house call to solve an electrical glitch which occurred about a year after the installation during a lightning storm.  It was only a reset that was needed; but they responded immediately and had it working right away. We are completely satisfied with the service, attention to detail, and price of the elevator.  All of the REMI people who were on our team were very professional and so nice to the homeowners when they came to the residence.

I have had my REMI home elevator since 2011. We have a basement plus 3 floors so we installed a 4 stop unit. The hardest part of the install was installing the shaft in an existing home. We feel the price was reasonable and we have been happy with the service of the unit. We use it often as we park on the basement level and then go to the first floor typically with groceries, etc. The install team was professional and competent and did a great job. I would wholeheartedly recommend REMI Home Elevators to those in the market for their product.

We decided to get a REMI Elevator for the value it offered, flexibility with steps of the installation in a space that already existed for the elevator, and due to good references from previous owners. It was installed in our new home. Michele and the support staff worked with us all steps of the way, including obtaining the building permit and installing it in timely fashion. We have been very happy with the unit, will recommend to anyone, and could not have made a better choice.

My knees were damaged in an auto accident making climbing my stairs very painful, so the second floor of my home was lost space to me. I had a REMI Home Elevator installed and it has made life in my current home more enjoyable and less painful on my legs.  Everyone at REMI was wonderful.  Our salesman was on time and answered all our questions clearly. Wayne was exceptional!  The existing trim in the house was discontinued and he was able to replicate it perfectly for the elevator shaft. Wayne was on time and did a marvelous job. Joe was the best! He was the mechanical installer and troubleshooter for the elevator. Joe was professional, on time, and went beyond his job to make sure we were happy and okay with the elevator. The whole process what easy and our REMI unit is my favorite feature of our home. Overall, REMI was Excellent!!

When we purchased our home we had to wait for our children to finish school. During this time we had decided on a home elevator and began the process of installation. We had some items in the home and we were able to give the contractor a key to the house because he never left his crew alone and always took excellent care to lock everything up. He left our home clean and the elevator looks marvelous. After 3 months of operating the elevator, we had an issue with the door not opening. We called REMI and they sent Joe out. He was very nice and very professional. He never laughed at us or said anything nasty when he had to tell us there was nothing wrong with the elevator; we were not pushing the buttons correctly. We felt so silly.  About two months later we had to call again because the door would not release and again there was nothing wrong with the elevator - it was operator error! Joe was very nice and treated us like family. He went over how the elevator was supposed to work and things we could do to troubleshoot when we thought we had a problem. After all the times he had been out to see us he never spoke to us like we were dumb and instead treated us like we were members of his family. I wish all my experiences with service personnel in my home were half as nice as the people who work for REMI Home Elevators.  I love my home elevator!

I'm happy to review my experience with REMI Home Elevators.  I'm a small builder in northern Indiana - Heartland Development. I just had REMI install a 3 story elevator in a new home for some of my clients.   I couldn't be happier with their installation and the quality of the unit, and of course, the price!   I was a bit apprehensive at first because I'd never included an elevator in any of my new homes before.   Well, this feature has really made this 3 story design a success for the elderly couple I built it for!   We were limited by a 50' wide lake lot so going up was the only way to get the house they wanted built. The homeowners are extremely pleased with the elevator!

I wanted to take a moment to send you this letter of thanks! When I found myself in need of an elevator, the prospect seemed overwhelming, but after speaking with several firms I found REMI Home Elevators. I found confidence in Jamie's professionalism and the information he provided helped me to understand exactly what installing my residential elevator would take. The upfront quote Jamie provided sealed the deal and REMI provided the best value by a mile.

I am 50 years old and I can't tell you how many times the sales department of a firm outsells the abilities of the firms they represent. My sales Representative, Jamie, on the other hand, could not possibly do that!  I had to have an internal elevator shaft installed in an existing home. The elevator shaft remodeling and preparation work was done by a local contractor who told me that the specifications REMI provided were clear and structurally excellent. My contractor told me that the folks at REMI were anxious to answer any and all questions and provide guidance in a timely and professional manner.

I bought the REMI home elevator to meet the needs of my wife who has Alzheimer's. This allowed her to stay in our home - an older house in a beautiful neighborhood surrounded by friends, and gave her much happiness. Building the external elevator shaft on our site was very problematic for us, but for the REMI staff, it was no problem at all. They were great to work with from start to finish, for me and for my contractor and crew. We have had great service from the elevator for 2 years. I would recommend this company and its people to anyone.

Thank you for your generous assistance in helping me plan for an elevator in my new home on Three Mile Lake, Louisiana. As you know, I recently had a complete hip replacement which prompted me to plan to have an elevator installed in our new home. In researching home elevator companies and speaking to several sales people regarding my needs, I must acknowledge you were the most knowledgeable, price competitive, and understanding, particularly in answering my many detailed questions. I also appreciate your assistance in answering the many questions my builder had, since this was the first elevator he had framed-up for. Your installation people were most efficient and capable. They worked around our building schedule to get it installed. It has been in service for a year now and working just like it was designed. Again thank you for all you help.  Please feel free to list me as a very satisfied customer for REMI Home Elevators.

I would first like to thank REMI Home Elevators for their professionalism in the whole process of buying and installing our elevator. The process was flawless and everything that I was told would happen, did, indeed, happen.  My wife and I started looking at dumb waiters at the beginning of the process. We were building our house on stilts by the water, and wanted something to assist in getting groceries and luggage up the stairs.  So we priced out dumb waiters and were shocked at the price for such a small compartment.  Then we talked about her parents and my parents and wondered if they would be able to climb the stairs in years to come?  That's when we upgraded to the home elevator.  In shopping around, I spoke to four companies that do home elevator sells.  The first three were just in the market to sell and move on, while REMI first wanted to know what the use would be for and why I wanted an elevator.  The sales person that I worked with called me back when he said he would, and we spoke several times on the weekend, which is rare in today's world.  Everything was done over the phone and fax. When a question came up on the shaft dimensions, I was directed to an engineer at the plant, so I got the right answer the first time.

The installation took two and a half days and everything went like clockwork.  After the install, I was given a complete lesson on the use and how the elevator works from top to bottom. Thank you REMI.  I would recommend you to anybody looking to have an elevator in their home.

The people in the REMI shipping and scheduling department kept me informed and performed as promised. Probably the brightest spot of my REMI elevator experience was the installation crew. It is so important that construction personnel understand that they are working in a person's home and to treat the home with respect, and CLEAN-UP after themselves. I was so happy with your crew; I wish every home service technical could be as professional as the guys from REMI.

My REMI elevator system has worked flawlessly!! When I have a bad experience, or a product or service that doesn't live up to it intended use, I make myself heard and complain, so when I have a good experience I feel equally obligated to let the firm know.  Jamie, thank you!! REMI departments and staff, thank you!! I am thrilled with my REMI home elevator and would recommend REMI to anyone who needs a residential elevator.

My wife and I have owned our REMI home elevator for approximately a year and a half and have been very pleased with its performance. We own a farm in East Tennessee and began construction on our new, three story home in March of 2012. As a home builder in Orlando, Florida, I had been investigating elevator manufacturers for the past three years, in anticipation of building our own personal home. My company built vacation homes that did not present the need for elevators, so I had to do some research on elevators. I would seek out every elevator manufacturer at the National Home Builder Convention for three years. After much research, I started investigating elevator companies that were not at the Convention via the Internet. REMI had a very user friendly web site and after several phone calls we set up a meeting with REMI to see their product first hand.

They set up several viewings for us of previous new home installations they had done, where my wife and I were able to visit an actual unit to test for ourselves. REMI personal were very accommodating and answered all our questions. The REMI elevator was equal to, and in most cases, superior to the major name manufacturers, at about two thirds the price. Additionally, I wanted a hydraulic system and many of the other manufactures were chain driven. Once we decided on REMI, they sent all the necessary construction "rough in" information for the construction of the elevator shaft.

I scheduled the elevator installation in accordance with my construction schedule and REMI was there on time and met their installation time frame. The installation personnel were professional and spent the necessary time orienting us to the elevators operation. We decided to install the elevator as a convenience for a three story home, but shortly after completing the home my wife broke her foot and I discovered I had no knee cartilage. Needless to say, we have used the elevator far more than we originally anticipated and instead of being an option, it has become a necessity. The elevator has operated flawlessly and we are very pleased with it. We have recommended REMI Home Elevators to our friends.

We have been living in our new home for a year and a half and are very happy with our REMI Home Elevator. It is an internal installation, and has performed flawlessly.  We decided that we wanted a hydraulically operated elevator, not a mechanical one.  After exhaustive research, we settled on REMI because it was hydraulic, the price was reasonable compared to other companies, and the excellent personal service we received prior to the purchase.  My wife and I would recommend REMI Home Elevators to anyone wanting a quality, carefree elevator.

Our elevator has been in for a year now and we are very pleased with the performance. My wife has multiple sclerosis and cannot do stairs so we needed an elevator.  I searched the Internet and REMI made the most sense to us. Thanks to Michele and Joe at REMI we have an elevator that we are very happy with. I highly recommend the elevator to anyone who is thinking about having one.

We ran across a very nice house near us which had an elevator and I looked through websites of various elevator companies. I selected REMI because their website was fully explanatory, complete, thorough, and understandable. The project involved putting in an addition to our two story house. The REMI staff was very responsive. They quickly followed up on the original quote I had gotten from the website and when we bought the unit, the installer came when we wanted him to come and worked hard to get it operational. The installer was a very hard working fellow, obviously knowledgeable, and we would like to congratulate REMI for employing such a thorough person.  We are happy with the unit and have recommended REMI to others.

I am a 62 year old man who became a paraplegic 8 years ago due to an injury. My wife and I live in a house that we built 26 years ago in a location that we really like. In the last few years my condition has deteriorated to the point where we were faced with a decision. We either had to renovate this house to make it more handicapped accessible or move. We struggled with this decision for a long time. We finally decided to renovate. The first part of the renovation was to install an elevator.

We researched the internet, talked to house remodelers, and heard about REMI from a house remodeler. We settled on REMI because they custom build the elevator cab in place. This allows them to make the best use of space when fitting an elevator into an existing home. They were willing to work with us to make the completed installation fit well with the house.

We told them that we were going to have hardwood flooring installed after the elevator was done and this would probably require a stop position adjustment. After the flooring was complete their technician came back and adjusted the stop position to match the flooring exactly. This makes getting in and out of the elevator in my wheelchair perfectly smooth, there is no transition bump. People in wheelchairs (or if you lean on a rolling walker hard) appreciate smooth transfers.

We would recommend REMI Home Elevators if you are considering getting an elevator installed.

I just wanted you to know how pleased we are with our REMI installed elevator. Since our main living area is on the second floor, we use it frequently and now wonder how we ever did without it! After my wife's complaining of the many trips up and down the stairs to bring in the groceries, last year we decided it was definitely "elevator time."

We researched various companies and had personal visits from some to explain their product and to answer our questions. This is when we learned of the various types of elevators, load capacities, maintenance requirements, etc.  After completing our research, REMI stood out for its reasonable pricing, quality hydraulic product, and responsiveness to our questions.

When we built our home a few years ago, one of the best decisions we made was to create an internal elevator shaft for later usage. So after making our decision, we only needed the custom-built elevator to be built and installed.  Our elevator is a "stand out" and never fails to get a positive response whenever guests take a ride!

We would definitely recommend REMI for your quality elevator product, a very competitive pricing structure, and knowledgeable employees.  Thanks for making our lives so much easier, plus the fact that having a home elevator is always a "crowd pleaser."

When moving back to our hometown we were dissatisfied with the available one-story homes, but since my wife was partially handicapped - and I didn't enjoy stairs either - we were reluctant to look at two-story homes. We were familiar with the ugly, stairway-mounted conveyances, and didn't want to ruin a beautiful, formal staircase with that kind of contraption. I had assumed that home elevators were probably limited and overly expensive, but we still found ourselves online, browsing home elevators. At about the same time that we found our dream home - a quirky two-story Victorian house on a golf course in our favorite neighborhood - I discovered REMI Home Elevators, and began a dialogue with Jamie, the Sales Representative. I was especially amazed to learn that the elevator didn't have to be as compact as a phone booth (if you're old enough to remember those) and that the price range was surprisingly affordable for us, as middle-class retirees. After studying the interior installation options on the helpful REMI website, I studied our new home and found a spot that looked ideally workable for an elevator shaft.  Jamie then visited the house and confirmed that the location would be ideal—ground floor entry would be near a (ramped) rear entrance, and also accessible from the living room. The second floor entry/exit would be into our large upstairs game room.

Although we had a few weeks between closing on the new house and actually moving in, the REMI folks (including their excellent shaft installer) worked so efficiently within our time frame that the elevator was installed and available for the actual move-in - to the amazement and delight of our movers, who were able to use the elevator's 950-pound load capacity to carry everything from stacks of boxes to furniture (including, for example, an overstuffed loveseat!)

The REMI Home Elevator has essentially allowed us to own a home which we could not have enjoyed without an elevator—and without compromising the home's natural style, since both elevator entries use doors which were already in place. Guests are always amazed when we open what they expect to be a closet door, to reveal a very roomy elevator!

We've probably dealt with a half-dozen members of the REMI Team (in addition to the installation crew) and they have been as friendly and cooperative as our first contact, Jamie. We would certainly consider another REMI Home Elevator, if we were not so convinced that we're living in our "last home."  Our assumption that elevators would be prohibitively expensive may have been based on our knowledge of short-term rentals in a nearby resort town (Galveston) where homes with elevators often rent for twice as much as those with stairs only  which suggests that an elevator will enhance the resale (or rental) value of a home far beyond the actual investment. We would enthusiastically recommend this company, their products, and their people to anyone needing a home elevator because of disability or - like me - because of a belief that stairs may provide an attractive architectural highlight, but no fun to climb on a daily basis.  Thanks, REMI!

My wife is only 47 years old and was a varsity runner in college. I can't explain why she developed arthritis in her knees, but for the past couple of years running has been impossible and climbing stairs painful. We live in the country in a 3 level home, and she worried we'd have to move to a single level dwelling. No way.  We found REMI through Google and it seemed like a reputable company.  We downloaded specs for the elevator and shaft that we thought would work and contacted Ken, the carpenter who built our home. He came over and we figured the best place for the elevator shaft would be off the back of the house. An internal shaft would have required too much alteration. Ken had no prior experience in building one of these.

The team that needed to communicate included Jamie, the REMI sales rep; Mike, the regional elevator installer; and Ken, our local carpenter.  Jamie answered most of Ken's questions until construction was underway.  Mike answered some of Ken's more specific questions about building the shaft and the wiring. After the shaft was built to specifications, Ken was done. Mike took over and his team installed the elevator and arranged for the inspection. There were no hidden costs. We paid our carpenter for his work, paid REMI for the elevator materials and the installation.

We've been using the elevator daily for bringing laundry from the basement to the top floor, bringing salt bags to the basement, and basically saving my wife's knees from having to do the stairs 20 times per day.  This is secure insurance for us that we will never have to move to a single level and leave our lovely country home. We have no experience with any other home elevator company, but the cost seemed pretty reasonable and the final product appears to be of high quality. The ride is smooth and quiet and the finish is nicer than any you'd find in a public motel or apartment building.

I realize that there is some concern in investing so much money into an internet company that doesn't have a local store. We took a chance on REMI, as we have no local dealer. Things turned out very well for us. I recommend REMI and their contracted installers.

R.Z., Minnesota

I had an elevator installed in my new home with REMI Home Elevators due to a combination of product quality, price and comfort with the dealer. To me, the cost was justified by the value and convenience of the elevator. I feel having one will be a very attractive feature upon any future resale of the home. I have several friends and family members in wheelchairs. Our REMI home elevator allows me to take my guests from the parking pad to a boat ride without one stair step.

My general contractor had never built a shaft for an elevator install. The REMI website enabled me to communicate critical construction data to the various trades so that when REMI arrived for the install, there were no surprises. REMI also came through when lightning struck a tree on our property. It travelled into the house on the data/telephone lines. We lost use of the main A/C unit, modem, router, cordless phones, one TV, and the elevator. A family reunion was scheduled for the following week with people coming from five states. REMI dispatched a service crew from another job and quickly got me up and running again. My family reunion was a great success and I would highly recommend REMI to anyone considering an elevator. Overall, REMI was outstanding!!!

In downsizing to the house which hopefully will be our home until it is time to move to a nursing home, my wife and I decided some remodeling would be appropriate, including the installation of an elevator, even though we had no current medical need for it.  Since both of us were in our mid-70's at the time, looking ahead seemed reasonable. Having no experience in purchasing an elevator, or any knowledge in judging the quality of elevators, I turned to the internet and found a number of articles suggesting things to consider in selecting an elevator.  I also located a number of blogs telling about the experiences of others in dealing with various companies.

After doing my due diligence, I settled on two particular companies, one of which used a vacuum to raise the elevator, and the other which used a hydraulic piston.  Both had good reputations for manufacturing a quality trouble-free product, and both had good ratings for customer satisfaction.  I contacted both. The REMI sales representative was on the ball, contacted me immediately and sent me details of a typical installation.  Then he came to my home to look over the area we had decided to remodel into an elevator shaft.  He made several excellent recommendations of how to improve our initial plan.

The other elevator company's representative sent me a lot of material by email, but it was the same material I already had examined on their web site.  When I finally did have the opportunity to talk with him by phone, I felt he was giving me a "we have the best product, so when can I take your order" attitude.  His ho-hum approach put me off and I struck his product from my list. Before moving into our retirement home we did a fair amount of remodeling which necessitated the REMI installation to fit into our general contractor's schedule.  We used a large downstairs closet which had an exercise room immediately above it, from which we stole the space for the elevator shaft.  The REMI installation crew appeared on time on the date scheduled, and in less than two days had installed the lifting mechanism and the elevator cage to the size to fit the shaft.  The workmanship was good. We can recommend the sales representative, Jamie, the company, and their product without reservation.

I was very pleased with the way REMI took a personal interest in the project and I couldn't be more pleased with the installation. It was an external shaft and it has now provided me with the ability to go from our garage level to our main floor and then on up to our master bedroom on the second floor with ease. I would highly recommend REMI to anyone who has an interest in making what could be one of their best investments and also give them the peace of mind that they will be ready to deal with any health issues that they might be faced with down the road.

I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated your help with our project.  Not being a cookie cutter type install, I was impressed with the initial process of selecting a unit on the REMI Home Elevator website to fill our needs.  I also really appreciated you giving us a reference for someone close to us that had already installed one of your elevators in their home so we could go and look at an install for ourselves.  Being able to see it firsthand made our job go much better.

I checked several different manufacturers and REMI was by far the best value. Retrofitting an elevator into a 3 story, 1882 building was much easier than I or my construction crew could imagine.  Cutting holes in two floors and getting the shaft plumb took a little figuring, but was not a big deal.  Once we finished the shaft and scheduled the install, we were hoping there would be no problems.  When Joe and his helper arrived I figured it would be a week or so before we would be done especially since we are out in the country.  If something is needed it is always a few hours getting to town and back with supplies.

To my surprise they were done in two days.  We were able to use the elevator to carry up building supplies and move into our new home.  It handled everything with ease, my contractor was very happy to not to have to carry 138, seventy-five pound boxes of hardwood flooring up the stairs. We even brought our 1954 Chambers cast iron stove up in the elevator.

It was our dream to turn an old General Mercantile Store into our loft home.  Now with the REMI home elevator we should be able to stay here for many years.  We can drive into the garage, walk into the basement, and then ride up to our loft home without taking one stair step. Now I am helping my son with a new home and he will also be installing a REMI home elevator.  My daughter-in-law's brother is in a wheelchair and this will make his visits much easier. He will be able to go down to their basement to play video games and back up as he pleases. Again, thanks for all your help.

D.M., Missouri

I purchased a REMI Home Elevator for our son who was born with cerebral palsy.  We built a new home last year and decided to purchase an elevator so that he could get up and down the stairs with his friends and our family.  We wanted the home to make him feel as independent as he could possibly be.  The REMI staff installed the elevator in a day and a half.  A huge thanks goes out to the staff that stayed until late hours of the night to make sure that the elevator was installed quickly.  This was after being on the road for over twelve days in a row.  Our elevator has been a great addition to our home.

I live in Florida and we recently built our dream house. We had REMI Install our home elevator. We were very impressed with the price and quality of the elevator we received. We have already had it for 8 months now without any issue. The REMI Home Elevators website is great and gives a layperson some really good information regarding different options that a homeowner has. If I ever need an elevator again, I know I would call REMI again. Even though their factory is not located in my area, the process online and over the phone was so easy and smooth that it felt like I was dealing with a local vendor - but for a price that local vendors could never beat. Thanks REMI, thanks.

We were pleased to share our experience with REMI Home Elevators.  When we retired in 2006, we had a house built for us in Port Aransas, Texas.  Since both of us are now in our early sixties, we began to develop knee troubles and arthritis.  Our home has twenty-five steps from the carport up to the front door, which were becoming increasingly difficult to climb.  We decided to purchase an elevator so as we aged we would be able to use both floors of our house.

The REMI home elevator was installed in the existing home by building an elevator shaft external to the house.  The elevator opens in the foyer of the first floor, and in the foyer on the second floor.  When we first contacted REMI we received information from their website and salesman.  Once we selected REMI, the sales coordinators visited us on site and explained the products and process.  He left drawings and material requirements that we then provided to our general contractor.  Once we selected the contractor to build and prepare the elevator shaft, REMI coordinated with our contractor to answer his questions and to assist in obtaining the required City construction permits for the elevator.

Our experience has been very positive and the elevator installation went smoothly.  We received an excellent price for the elevator and the installation.  REMI sent a qualified two-man team to work with our contractors to install and test all the equipment.  We are very happy with our REMI home elevator and would recommend REMI Home Elevators to our friends.

I needed a reasonably priced elevator for my home and found REMI Home Elevators on the Internet.  The price seemed quite reasonable compared to other companies so I was cautious.  I asked for some references who I then called and received the confidence I needed.  I found the REMI website easy to navigate and it provided instant pricing which was terrific. The video was also helpful in understanding how it is constructed. I also liked the fact that I could select elevator options and build it to my specifications/needs right on-line.  Jamie, the sales representative, was very responsive and worked with me on the price a bit.  The elevator was needed in a new garage addition to our home for my wife's parents who have difficulty with stairs.  It was built in an internal shaft with doors opening on opposite sides. She loves the elevator!  It's also very handy for getting our shopping items easily into our home. The delivery was scheduled on the same day that Hurricane Sandy came into our area and yet the crew showed up anyway!

Our installer was Nate who did a wonderful job with the project.  We were away at that time, but returned home to a nice working elevator. We're about to stain the interior of the cab and lay tile on the floor.  I actually like the fact that I can finish it the way I want.  Overall, I was very happy with the folks at REMI and the final product, and would recommend them to others.
